English automaker Lotus has unveiled it’s latest environmentally conscious version of it’s popular sports car called the Eco Elise. This time the automaker has built the vehicle using hemp (industrial cannabis) for it’s body panels, spoiler and seats as well as lightening the load with lighter weight wheels. On the inside, Alpine helped with adding a lightweight audio system and speakers. To top off the eco philosophy, the roof is lined with solar panels to help power the electrical system. With all the shedding in weight, what’s the total savings you ask? The Eco Elise dropped over 70lbs to it’s already light body weight, but if you want to check this little smoker out, (no pun intended), you’ll have to hop the pond cause who knows when it’ll hit US shores. All I can say, “it’s dope!” That pun was intended…
