If you’ve been under a rock lately you probably haven’t seen that every commercial on prime time television has been to promote Microsoft’s newest faux hippster social phone the “KIN” has been killed. The European Fall release has been squashed and the entire KIN team has been absorbed into the Windows 7 Mobile team. The big reason for the sudden change of plans is due to product sales. Apparently after 6 months, only 500 KINs were sold. Yeah, I’d kill that product too!
When I was a kid there was a man named Cal Worthington. He owned a bunch of car dealerships, Worthington Ford etc…and he would have some amazing commercials. I don’t know if he was a stuntman or a zoo keeper but he would do the most incredible things to sell you a car…and the theme song to his commercial was for some reason called “Pussy Cow”! or was it “Go see Cal”?
Either way, I would love his commercials as a kid, maybe it was cause he would either ride and wrestle animals, do some crazy stunt or that his theme song was “Pussy Cow”. So for you’re enjoyment, “If you want a car or truck, Pussy Cow! If you want to save a buck, Pussy Cow! If you want a brand new truck, if you want to change your luck, if you want to save a buck, Pussy Cow!”
So this has been around now for a while now but I thought it was entertaining although nearly on the verge of “too much time on your hands” literally. Apparently this was done in one take…I wonder how many attempts it took.
Damn, here is the latest commercial from Armani with Megan Fox. Def worth those millions…

Travis Pastrana has wowed us with his double backflip on a motocross bike and has recently turned his attention to rally cars. Now to ring in the new year he has set the record for the longest car jump from a meager 171 ft to an amazing 269 ft. Starting off from the end of the Long Beach Pier and pushing his little rally car through the air and landing on a floating barge, he barely has enough time to stop himself by sliding into the end of the barge retaining wall. A great way to start off the new year!!
Leave it to Kathy Griffin to drop the first F-Bomb for 2010 during a CNN report with Anderson Cooper. It’s surprising to me that Kathy Griffin continues to get work for being such a piece. Hopefully we won’t have to see the D-list host too much in 2010 cause I don’t know how much more I can take of her…soo annoying…
In Wenzhou, China a man riding his bike witnesses 2 thieves on a scooter ride by outside a hotel and snatch a woman’s purse. Casually he steps off his bike and calmly chucks the bike right at the thieves and takes them out. Talk about the holiday spirit!
Here is an amazing short video of the Universe as we know it. We are pretty insignificant…
AFA, American Family Association, a Christian group has decided to hold off on their boycott of The GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy until after they get a chance to see the “Christmas-themed commercial” on Nov. 28. Bryan Fischer. The group claims that The GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy have downplayed the term “Christmas” in past commercials. AFA has boycotted other stores such as Target and Sears in the past. I gotta say it, it isn’t very Christian-like to be boycotting a store based off of downplaying the term “Christmas”, what do they think of the Kwanzaa holiday? Plan on boycotting Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles next??
